Did some stamping ...........

....... today.  At last.

OK so it is only 2 very simple cards - but it was good to play again & here they are;

This is the first one,. I had a quick look through a folder holding stamps & saw this corner floral image which I always like using - so thought that this would be my starting point.  I have coloured this one using watercolour pencils & a waterbrush one of my favourite ways of colouring.

I had printed some pastel coloured papers for a digital design I was going to create afterwards & decided to use one of them on this card instead.  I inked the edges of the paper with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, plus the edges of the floral image which I had cut out.  When I came to adhere it to the front of the card I realised that due to its shape it would make a little pocket - so I used sticky pads & left the curved front edge unattached.  I then created a small tag with inked edges to place in the pocket.  I have left it blank & will put the appropriate sentiment on it when I use it.

Here is the second card I made  - with the same image;

This time I coloured the image with a little set of watercolour paints that ibought some time ago which are very like Twinkling H2)'s when they are dry.  Very pearlised.  The Distress Ink used this time around the edges with Crushed Olive.

Thank you for stopping by my little blog I hope you will call again - especially now I am getting some stamping done again.

Keeping in touch

Hi - I am just dropping in to let you know I am still here - but not really getting any stamping done at the moment.

But so that you know I am not sitting on my hands I thought I would show you a little more of my wedding preparations with a couple of photos of the sugar roses that are going on the cake.

This shows 4 of them - with 3 that have been dusted with an ivory edible dust.  The one top left has not been dusted.  You can just see the difference.

Here is a close up of one not dusted - the sugar paste is a pale ivory colour.

& here is one that has been dusted - which shows up better than in the group photo.

these little blossoms will go around the bottom of the cake & shows those that have been dusted (on the right) & those that haven't.

I must apologise to my followers who are expecting this blog to be about stamping - normal service will be resumed after the wedding (end of April) I promise.

Thank you for your patience with me.

keeping in touch

Hi everyone

Just popping in so that you don't think I have disappeared for good.  I am still busy with my wedding arrangements & preparations so not getting much time to stamp unfortunately.  I do have some birthdays coming up soon so I will have to find time to stamp those.

But I can show you a photo of stamping I did towards the wedding - I don't think I have shown them before;

The cards are 5" x 5" square in a very pale cream with scalloped edges.  I then used my Bigshot to emboss the border pattern & then stamped the appropriate wording in Versamark Ink & heat embossed with gold EP. For Christmas I was given the Ebosser - so embossing is much easier on my wrist now - but I haven't had a really good play yet.  Looking forward to using it after the big event.

Thank you for stopping by I hope you enjoyed your visit.

New follower & keeping in touch

Hello everyone

I am popping in this morning to welcome a new follower - Flora - & I do hope you enjoy your visits.

During this month & April I will only be posting now & again as I have a busy few weeks ahead of me, as you know I have a wedding I am preparing for.  But I hope to be back in full swing in May so please keep popping back.

I thought you might like to see how the roses for my cake are progressing - here is the latest photo;

I have some rose-buds to complete & then it is on to the leaves.  All my table centres are done - but I cannot show photos of those until after the wedding.

If this new bout of cold weather & snow is in your area wrap up warm & keep safe.

Just keeping touch

Things are progressing well here with wedding arrangements.

My most recent task has been to get the sugar past roses started for the cake.  They have moved from buds, to a second layer now -

& I added another layer to some over the weekend

The other thing I recently finished was some pillow boxes which are going to hold chocolates for our guests.

These have been embossed with the same pattern as our wedding stationery.

Hope to be back again soon - perhaps I might find a gap in the schedule of work to make a couple of cards.
