catching up

Hello everyone

I thought I had better pop in for a moment to make sure you don't think I have disappeared.  Following my god-daughters wedding I came down with a chest infection which really knocked me back.

I am just beginning to find my feet again & feeling like doing some crafting.  So I started with my god-daughter's wedding photos.  Although I do do hybrid scrap booking I also enjoy digital scrap booking.  I thought the wedding would be ideal for this.  Here is the first page

Now I talked a bit over the previous weeks about the cake I was making - so the first page I felt should be about that.  The thing I love about digital scrap booking is being able to produce unique backgrounds.  This one has been made by adding some flourish style embellishments & then the photo of the couple cutting the cake has been merged into the background.  This leaves the photos of my cake centre stage.  I was very pleased with the result.  I have another one completed of the couple in the garden of the hotel where the reception was held.  I will show that one tomorrow.

I am now going to have a look at the challenge blog sites to see what is going on.
'Bye for now.

It's WOYWW time again.

Don't know what this is about?  Then click on the link, find out, join in & have fun.

I missed last week, as I was in the New Forest for my god-daughters wedding & although the hotel had broadband etc it getting dropping out so it was impossible to join in.  My desk today would have been my desk last week too as I have not been near it since as I have returned home with a chest infection.

Anyway here is my desk & after it I will put a couple of photos of the wedding cake in all its splendour.  Thank you for popping by I hope to be dropping in on some of you a bit later too.

The non-stick craft sheet has made its way back to my desk - I had been using it for rolling out the marzipan & icing.  Works beautifully too as it sticks to the work surface & you don't end up chasing the icing all over the kitchen..  lol.

The florist in her infinite wisdom had cut & taped the flowers with 4" stems - so I was left with no choice  but to just lay them on the cake in this sort of fan shape.  But my god-daughter was thrilled & that at the end of the day was what I wanted to achieve.

A wedding card

Hi everyone

What a change in the weather, & snow forecast too!!!!  I am keeping my fingers crossed it waits until after my god-daughters wedding on Wednesday.  In fact until after Thursday as that is the day we will be driving home.

Here is the card I have made for her - I tried to keep it clean & simple & in keeping with her colours.

All the papers have been edged with the lavender Promarker to match the ribbon & the initials were die cut from white card & also coloured with the Promarker.  In the photo the cards has a blue tinge to it - but is a very clean, crisp white card.

Tomorrow we are off to the New Forest where the wedding is taking place, then the wedding is on Wednesday.  We are transporting the wedding cake, & we are quite old hands at this now as this will be the fourth wedding cake we have had to take long distance, plus a silver wedding cake some years back.

Thank you for popping by - have a nice day.
